In advance of Chinese President Hu Jintao trip to WashingtonDC, firms in the US and China have made a deal on clean energy through the transfer of technologies.
Several large US companies have announced joint ventures with Chinese entities.
General Electric has agreed to sell cleaner coal technology to Chinese energy utilities.
Another US company Duke Energy plans to work with private Chinese businesses to construct a green city near Beijing that incorporates cleaner energy production and efficiency as well as transportation infrastructure.
AEP, another major US firm, has also made arrangements with Chinese businesses to share technology in an effort to catch up to China in clean tech development.
