Ebay installing solar system in Utah
Internet giant Ebay announced the installation of its largest renewable energy project to date-a 665 kilowatt solar system located at its Topaz data Center in Utah.
The 72,000 square foot installation was engineered by SPG Solar and should generate almost 1,000,000 kilowatt hours per year.
Ebay expects the solar project to pay for itself within four years based on electric savings as well as tax incentives. The online auction site now boasts nearly 2 megawatts of renewable energy capacity, over 10% of its US data center usage.
