California carbon allowances trading at $14

California carbon allowances (CCAs) for use in the state’s carbon market closed the week at $14 apiece.

The California carbon market continues to see large volumes of CCAs trading as more entities have begun participating since the beginning of the year.

Last week a record 1.1 million vintage 2013 CCAs exchanged hands.

California’s next carbon allowance is scheduled for February 19, when the floor price for CCAs will be raised to $10.70.
