500,000 California carbon allowances trade
With the next allowance auction being held February 19, 500,000 California carbon allowances (CCAs) for delivery in 2013 traded over the course of the week.
The price for CCAs held firm at $14 as market players wait to see how next week’s auction will turn out.
Nearly 13 million CCAs for delivery in 2013 will be auctioned, in addition to 9.5 million future CCAs to be delivered in 2016.
The floor price has been raised to $10.71 for the year, although analysts predict California carbon allowances will reach a settlement price higher than the floor.
