Green Assets featured in NC Law Newsletter

Gardner Altman, general counsel for Green Assets, Inc. – a leading forest carbon development company – was asked to write an article on the dynamics of the North American carbon market for the North Carolina Bar Association’s Fall Newsletter.

Altman’s article focuses on the current and historical importance of forestland to the state of North Carolina and the opportunity for landowners seeking both the environmental and economic rewards of implementing a carbon offset project on their land.

The article goes on to explain, in detail, the functioning components of the US carbon market and how landowners can get involved.

According to Altman, “if a forest owner desires to conserve and preserve woodlands in an environmentally sensitive manner, a carbon offset project should be thoroughly investigated and strongly considered.”
