500,000 California carbon allowances trade
The state Air Resources Board (ARB) saw 500,000 California carbon allowances (CCA) trade this week, leading up to the ARB’s fifth auction later this month.
Prices remained steady around $11.90 for California carbon allowances to be delivered in 2013.
The ARB will be holding its next auction later this month, when over 26 million CCAs will be offered up for sale.
The last auction held in August saw all current 2013, and future 2016, California carbon allowances sell.
To date, all four ARB auctions have totaled over $1 billion in revenue.
Next year the floor price for California carbon allowances at auction will increase to $11.47.
